Current books, worth recommending.
“Judaism of the Second Temple Period” by David Flusser
This is not light reading but I know many of you enjoy more academic writing. It is a collection of essays by Flusser, some far more interesting then others. Over all very interesting and a great starting point if you are interested in the Apocalyptic literature leading up to Jesus.
“Radical” by David Platt
I have already spent a lot time recommending this book. If you attend church on a regular basis and that sums up your religion…read this book.
“The Big Book of Christian Mysticism” by Carl McColman
I bought this book on my Kindle and therefore was not sure how big it really was, you would think I would not have been surprised that it is a long book. I mean really what clues could I possibly of had? But do not let that scare you off, this is a great book. I highly recommend this to everyone. Although people are afraid of the term “mysticism” I personally consider this to be rooted in the purest form of the Christian faith.
